2013 PRIMARY CONSTRUCTION

 

 

EXPANSION/ RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

 

Northland Drive – North of Indian Lakes Road to South Street

Reconstruct and widen to 3-lane all-season section.  Includes concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, ditches and HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.  Work will be phased with work north of 16 Mile Road first and south of 16 Mile Road last.

 

Planned Start Date:  June 10, 2013

                                               

Kraft Avenue – 60^th Street to 52^nd Street

Reconstruct and widen south half to 3-lane all-season section and crush and shape and resurface the north half.  Includes concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and watermain extension (Cascade Township), and HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

 

Start Date:  March 18, 2013

Contractor:  Georgetown Construction

Completion Date:  July 1, 2013

 

INTERSECTION PROJECTS     

 

14 Mile Road – Edgerton Avenue to US-131 Ramps

Widen to provide a center left-turn lane from Edgerton Avenue to southbound US-131 ramps.  Two-way traffic will be maintained.

 

68^th Street @ Morse Lake Avenue

Reconstruct and regrade 68^th Street east and west of Morse Lake Avenue to improve sight distance, including earthwork, drainage and HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

 

Planned Start Date:  June 10, 2013

 

Knapp Street & Grand River Drive

Reconstruct and regrade Knapp Street west of Grand River Drive to improve sight distance, construct northbound to eastbound right-turn lane on Grand River Drive.  Modify and upgrade existing traffic signal.  Traffic will be maintained with lane restrictions.

 

 

White Creek Avenue north of 17 Mile Road

Reconstruct and widen to provide a southbound right-turn lane at 17 Mile Road and center left-turn lane north through existing commercial drive access.  Through traffic will be detoured.

Completion Date:  June 30, 2013

 

TRAFFIC SIGNAL PROJECT     

 

Ada Drive & Spaulding Avenue

Modify and upgrade existing traffic signal with box span configuration, LED signal heads and camera detection.  Modify northwest curb radius and reconstruct existing sidewalk ramps.

 

RESURFACING PROJECTS

 

Cascade Road – Timpson Avenue to Segwun Avenue

Cold mill existing asphalt surface and crack & seat underlying concrete pavement.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.  Project will be phased with work west and east of Alden Nash Avenue.

 

68^th Street – Burlingame Avenue to Clyde Park Avenue

Mill existing asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

76th Street – Burlingame Avenue to Sierrafield Drive

Crush and shape existing asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured. 

 

84^th Street – Division Avenue to Kalamazoo Avenue

Cold mill and crush & shape existing asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.  Project will be phased with work west and east of Eastern Avenue.

BRIDGE PROJECT

 

Ada Bridge #5 – Knapp Street over the Grand River

            Pin and hanger replacement, steel repair and seal concrete deck.  Two-way traffic will be maintained with a temporary traffic signal.  The project will be coordinated with the Knapp Street and Grand River Drive intersection project.

 

NON-MOTORIZED PROJECT

 

Musketawa Trail / White Pine Trail Connector (Phase 2)

            Construct a 10-foot wide HMA trail from 3 Mile Road at Alpine Avenue to the White Pine Trail at North Park Street.
