Kent County Color Tour
Fall is the perfect time to experience the natural beauty throughout the area. To assist travelers eager to take in the sights, Kent County Road Commission offers the Color Tour of Kent County. Encompassing over 240 miles, the Color Tour guides motorists, cyclists and more along county roads showcasing picturesque seasonal scenes. The Color Tour is divided into nine (9) routes that may be connected for longer trips or driven individually for briefer outings.
“The Color Tour is something the road commission produced in the 1950s. In 2016, we decided that it would be great tradition to restore,” said Steve Warren, KCRC's managing director. "These routes guide residents through various areas to enjoy the beautiful vistas throughout Kent County."
KCRC cautions drivers to stay alert and to keep their eyes on the road, especially with road work continuing throughout the area. With that in mind, each Color Tour route identifies nearby Kent County and township parks that serve as great "rest stops," each boasting unique scenic views and recreational opportunities.
"We have adjusted routes to avoid closures," said Warren. "So while we continue our efforts to improve the roads, we encourage our community to enjoy the gorgeous fall colors throughout the county."
