Crush & Shape is a structural pavement treatment that grinds, or crushes, the existing asphalt and 1-2” of underlying gravel. The material is then regraded, compacted and covered with multiple layers of paver-placed hot asphalt.

The project includes approximately 3,000 ft. of 16” water main installation along the west side of Herrington Avenue. Work also includes a 30” steel casing under 10 Mile Road installed by bore and jack methods.

The Kent County Road Commission (KCRC) in collaboration with Courtland Township is contracting with Superior Asphalt completed a full-width repaving of 13 Mile Road, Northland Drive to Tefft Avenue.

This permitted work (non-KCRC) includes sanitary sewer extension, storm sewer work, and road widening to three-lane for new residential development on the north side of Knapp Street.

This project includes a full-depth cold mill of existing two (2) lane and four (4) lane asphalt surfaces and placement of two courses of HMA.  This project also includes concrete ramp improvements for an existing bike path. A detour is posted for traffic whose final destination is outside the closure limits.Through traffic will be detoured.

Modify and upgrade existing traffic signal, with box span configuration, LED signal heads, backplates and updated detection.

The Kent County Road Commission (KCRC) in collaboration with Algoma Township is contracting with Michigan Paving and Materials to complete a full-width repaving of select local streets. The project is to be completed within contract limits, May 1 and August 31, 2022, weather permitting.
