Engineering Technician

The Kent County Road Commission is currently accepting applications for an Engineering Technician.  This entry-level position has the primary responsibility for: conducting on-site inspections of construction projects for compliance with “Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control”, communicating compliance standards as it relates to construction activity and issued permits. Other duties include performing fundamental engineering activities in the survey, design and construction of roads and bridges, including density testing and material testing.  

Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Civil Technology, Engineering, Surveying, or related discipline is desired; two years relevant experience preferred. Certification for inspection of bituminous, concretes, aggregate and DEQ certification for soil erosion and sedimentation control plan review and design required. Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to work independently are essential.
