West River Drive – Samrick Avenue to Jupiter Avenue

Reconstruct and add a center left turn lane for overall five-lane section. Includes concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, sidewalk ramps and HMA pavement.  Two-way traffic (one-lane in each direction) will be maintained during construction.

            Planned Completion Date:  August 29, 2008

 

Northland Drive – 12 Mile Road to 13 Mile Road

Reconstruct and widen to five-lane section. Includes concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, and HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

            Planned Completion Date:  July 3, 2008

 

Hanna Lake Avenue – 68th Street to Wing Avenue

Reconstruct and widen to three-lane all-season section.  Includes concrete curb and gutter, storm sewer, and HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

INTERSECTION PROJECTS

 

Cascade Road and Robinson Road

Widen Cascade Road to provide center left turn lane and realign Robinson Road at the intersection.  Relocate and upgrade the traffic signal.  Maintain one-lane traffic in each direction on Cascade Road and detour Robinson Road traffic.

Knapp Street @ East Beltline (M-44)

Expand existing right turn lane and add second right turn lane on east side of the East Beltline to accommodate westbound to northbound traffic.

Knapp Street @ Egypt Valley Avenue

Reconstruct and regrade Knapp Street east and west of Egypt Valley Avenue to improve intersection sight distance, including curb & gutter, drainage and HMA pavement.  Through traffic will be detoured.

RESURFACING PROJECT

 

Cascade Road – Burton Street to Thorncrest Drive

            Mill off existing Asphalt surface, crack and seat underlying concrete pavement, and place new HMA surface.  Widen to five-lanes between Burton St and 28^th Street. Upgrade existing sidewalk ramps to current ADA standards. Two-way traffic (one-lane in each direction) will be maintained during widening and resurfacing.

Eastern Avenue – 68th Street to 60th Street

Mill existing four-lane asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement and restripe for three-lanes.  Upgrade existing sidewalk ramps to current ADA standards. Maintain one-lane traffic in each direction during resurfacing.

Patterson Avenue – 28th Street to Burton Street

            Mill portions and crush and shape portions of existing asphalt surface.  Resurface with HMA pavement.  Upgrade existing sidewalk ramps to current ADA standards.

Thornapple River Drive / Thornhills Avenue – I-96 Overpass to 28th Street

44th Street – Eastern Avenue to Kalamazoo Avenue

            Mill top portion of existing asphalt surface.  Resurface with four inches of concrete white topping.  Daytime lane closures, nighttime closures with through traffic detoured.

60th Street – Division Avenue to Eastern Avenue

BRIDGE PROJECT

 

Ada Bridge #42 – Thornapple River Drive under the GR Eastern Railroad

            Remove old concrete and masonry abutments and wingwalls and install steel sheeting with concrete facing to increase roadway opening and approach sight distance.

NON-MOTORIZED PROJECTS

 

M-6 Trail (Phase 1) – Kent Trails to Clyde Park Avenue

            Continue construction of a 10-foot wide HMA Trail along the north M-6 right-of-way and along the west side of Clyde Park Avenue between M-6 and 68^th Street.

 

            Contractor:  Nashville Construction

            Planned Completion Date:  May 23, 2008

 

 

M-6 Trail (Phase 2) – Division Avenue to Wing Avenue

            Construct a 10-foot wide HMA Trail along the south side of M-6 between Division Avenue and Eastern Avenue and along the north side between Eastern Avenue and Wing Avenue, including a connection to Creekside Park.
