Seasonal Restrictions Suspended March 1

Seasonal Weight and Speed Restrictions will be SUSPENDED on Friday, March 1 at 6 a.m. by the following agencies:

  • Barry County Road Commission
  • Ionia County Road Department
  • Kent County Road Commission (KCRC)
  • Montcalm County Road Commission
  • Newaygo County Road Commission
  • Ottawa County Road Commission
  • City of Grandville
  • City of Kentwood
  • City of Walker

In addition, please note:

These agencies are suspending seasonal restrictions on the following dates:

  • Mason County Road Commission – March 11 at 6 a.m.
  • Oceana County Road Commission – March 5 at 6 a.m.

The following agencies have already suspended seasonal restrictions:

  • Calhoun County Road Department
  • Muskegon County Road Commission
  • Road Commission of Kalamazoo County

The above-mentioned agencies enacted seasonal weight and speed restrictions on January 31 to protect the integrity of the road as frost was coming out of the ground.

Restrictions are lifted, or suspended, based on ongoing monitoring of conditions, frost depth measurements, and the upcoming forecast that, collectively, suggest non-all-season roads can once again support commercial traffic with heavier loads.
